It's not just that station, though.  That's all radio nowadays.  Happens on TV a lot too.
Yeah but even the music going into commercial is blaring loud, and that's from them.  Then on the play by play, I can hear Dave just fine, but the volume level for Charlie is WAAAY low.

This.  I wish someone would invent a set that automatically mutes commercials.

That's because commercials are allowed to play their entire spot at the loudest moment of the broadcast they're on.

So, lets say there's a car chase in a TV show which gets really loud... commercials are allowed to play their entire commercial at that sound.

you can. Just wait for the volume fluctuation. Hell, Walmart sold a DVD player that fast forwarded through the dirty parts of movies. But the ad industry has a lobby, TiVO is part owned by networks, yada yada

Oh, how far this team has come if the worst thing people are complaining about is Cristian Guzman....

I remember the days when we had Fat Johnny, Pauly Walnuts, and Kearnsy to be the whipping boys.

Interesting factoid.  Thanks Linty.

Pretty sure my Samsung compensates for that. They do it to make sure you don't ignore the commercials.

Yeah, of course.  But it has the reverse effect.  I'd imagine it just makes people reach for the mute button that much faster.

Hey guys, I think I'm going to watch the Orioles game on MASN 2 after this game so I can laugh at them some more.

Oh, wait, the Orioles game is blacked out. :lmao: :lmao:

Exactly what I was thinking.  But it hasn't been done for precisely the reasons you mentioned.

That is interesting.  So I guess if you're watching golf or something on PBS, you might be safe.

Ryan Zimmerman, how nice it is to have you back in the lineup.

My new car adjusts the stereo volume based on the speedometer. I love that.

Yeah, it's still brightening my day.

I was starting to feel bad about, but you know what?  The Orioles did that to the Nats during our magical 2005.  They treated this team like trash and kept them off TV way, way too much for an MLB team.

Then freaking Orioles fans just pointed and laughed and acted like the Nats deserved it because they were treading on the O's territory.

So you know what?  freak them.  I'm going to point and laugh at their bush league operation, and I won't feel bad about it at all.

Yeah those have been around for a few years, very nice feature to have, but I don't miss it on mine because I never listen to the radio :-[

I thought it was based on ambient noise, not just the speed.  It is a nice thing though, my 3 has it too.

Dunn has been getting a ridiculous amount of sliders and outside fastballs this year so far, probably why he isn't hitting much AND why he is getting so many walks.

Does anyone else think Dunn is starting to press the issue?  His OBP is beginning to suffer.

That could be bad for me. My volume would shoot up so quickly so often that I'd blow out my speakers.

You can't get on route 4 every day without going from 20 to 60 at the blink of an eye.

Yes I do.  I think he is starting to expand his strikezone too much.  I want him to hit, but if they aren't going to pitch to him rightly, I'd rather he take the walk every time.
