Does anyone have a number of how many times we've been freaked by the umpires this season?  That's been a strike all day long!  All of sudden, no dice?

Also, why didn't we walk Hundley to get to Eckstein?

None of this makes sense...

freak the umpire that was a bettewr strike then he was calling all game

yep he was. That pitch was called strike 3 for the Padres' pitchers all game long.

No consistency whatsoever. Total embarrassment.

Dammit. Sucks to see the offense die in this series. What a waste.

I hate playing in San Diego. I feel like we've never won a series there.

I don't think we have.  Bob said something during the first game about us being 7 for 30 against them since '05 and losing 9 out of 10 series.  This would make 10 out of 11.  Only question is where the one series was played.

Was that someone here or Bob that said we lost 20 out of 23 against them. (some number like that)

I had to come back because this really bothered me, being forced to swing at pitches that aren't strikes.

When do you swing, when the ball is three inches outside the plate or six inches outside the plate?  The outside edge of the plate clearly wasn't his cutoff point, so what was it?  How can the batter determine what's a strike and what's a ball if the homeplate umpire is making his own rules.

What was being done at that home plate, today, was not baseball.  >:(

I agree PC. Plus, those bullcrap strike-balls that were called earlier quickly went away for Capps.

Bogus Dude.

Rob was saying the hitters should adjust, but that's bull. Willingham is not going to screw up his batting eye by swinging at bad pitches to please the fat stupid ump. He's going to take a ball if it's a darn ball.
