Ovie and semin scoring goals is very encouraging. Not only because they are scoring goals but it shows them that they can score while playing the new system and should lead to increased buy-in and less sulking

Brutal, I don't get this team. Great game last night and tonight they are getting dominated by the worst team in the league. Caps will be lucky to get 8 seed.

I forgot that games ended in the 2nd period. Someone should tell these 2 teams.

Ovechkin is heating up. All of a sudden he has 16 goals. Granted, still a ways to go before he's on pace for his usual numbers, but it's very encouraging- if he plays like he has the last few games for the rest of the season, the problems the team has are quickly covered up.

Also noteworthy is the improvement by the goalie- 4 goals given up in the last three games, 11 scored by the offense.

Man, Patti LaBelle just seriously freaked up the national anthem. I mean, she got the words right, but it really sucked.

Best outcome is a 0-0 tie with all kinds of fights and the stadium collapsing

Another good game. This team looks like they're having fun again. Haven't seen that in a while.

kuznetsov hatrick in less than half a game vs canada. not dominating but opportunistic

don cherry will not like the slide along the ice goal celebration generally reserved for ot winners

RUS up 4-1. not over yet though. Canada is dominating, RUS has scored on every chance

Kuz finished two 3 on 2's and one semi breakaway

goaltending was apparently a weakspot for the russians. even though kuz has 4 points, this goalie is the is the first star. probably played himself into a first round pick if he is undrafted. 26 saves on 27 shots through half a game

Vokoun is the goalie the Caps have been needing for years. Assuming they can get there, they may find themselves with remarkably few question marks in comparison with the last few years. I think a few moves can be made at the deadline to perhaps pick up a good center and maybe a d-man or two. The need for those is a lot les pressing than it has been, though.

Schultz is just wasting cap space in the press box, they need to find a way to dump his salary for a draft pick and try to find the money for another veteran (CHEAP) defenseman or two. They're at the cap (or very close to it) I believe and could still use some work, but overall, the team will be OK if they keep playing like they have in this 4-game streak.

Ovechkin looks like a beast again.
