Neuvirth with that most hilarious goal given up in the past decade I swear. If not, it's fighting for that #1 spot. Absolutely pathetic.

Not even close to being the most hilarious goal given up. I've seen a lot worse and hilarious.

I didn't get to see it. I got home and watched from the second period on. I'll have to go search for the video.

Those soft goals are absolutely fatal. It seems like the Caps give up at least one per game. Doesn't seem to matter which goalie is playing either.

It's one of those goals where it's just crappy luck, happens to at least 1 goalie a year. Regardless, with the fire power this team has, 2 goals should not be insurmountable.

They actually got multiple shots on goal during that PP earlier.   Playing very well in this one.

Ovie playing like he should, with a nice goal. Backstrom with a sick wrap around and Hendricks drawing a penalty by not fighting. Semin being the usual idiot self. Good PP even though they didn't score. Hope they can keep this play up the rest of the game.

That was nice. If he wasn't such a moron, I'd like him.

Didn't watch or even listen to the game, but from my understanding of the boxscore they had a dominant first, poor second, and good 3rd. can anyone verify?
I still think the team needs more shots on goal- today was only 20. Is this how Hunter's teams did it in the OHL?

Yes, good 1st, blah 2nd and good 3rd. Save for that fluke goal against the Aves, Neuvy has been lights out the last 3 games. Great PP's this game as well. They didn't score on the 1st one, but they had some nice chances and the 2nd one was just nice.

You see him score a sick goal like that and it just makes you wonder why he can't do it more often. He's one of the more frustrating players that I've ever watched play for the Capitals. He probably has more pure talent than anyone else on the team, but he just seems lazy at times.

watching tonight i started to notice something. they suck at cycling the puck. not because they arent willing to dig along boards or try hard. they just suck with timing and touch. they'll mash it around when a guy isnt that far away or something. now that i see it, it has been that way for a while. hopefully they just get better at it.

other than that. pretty decent game. didnt give nashville much. scored on our opportunities. got the goaltending we needed. hopefully semin and ovie are starting to get some shooting confidence back

Good observation... There seemed like something was awry, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I think that's it.

I think Ovechkin is going to start scoring goals in bunches soon. His goal tonight was very typical in terms of opportunities- he's had at least half a dozen opportunities in (my) recent memory (this year) exactly like that which he's been unable to convert. Once he figures it out, the results will start flying.

hunter is not big "spread the ice time" guy. i hardly saw knuble out there. apparently he was out there 10 minutes. almost 3 minutes of it SH. perrault, hendricks, schultz each with under 7 minutes. next lowest, ward with almost 13 minutes. next lowest.....OVIE with 15 minutes

Yet they won 4-1, fine with me, though I think we all know if Rinne was in, it would have been different.

Ovie was really throwing his weight around in the 1st.  Say what you want about him, but he's certainly not one to shy away from contact.

I think the only reason he's gotten away from it somewhat is because the league loves to suspend him over BS.

There have been several articles over the past couple weeks saying things like ' ovie showing glimpses of his old self'. The glimpses are becoming more frequent

A point on the road after being down 3-0 after two...a win would have been nice, but I'll take it.

Time to turn Buffalo into a gymnasium (especially since the two biggest VC enemy fan invasions of the year are likely to be this coming week).
