NatsAddict called the homer.

Martin does not have big league stuff.

No, it came as a surprise.  That's his first one not using Volstad's bat (painted black).

we are the Marlins' nag, Bob. this loss will make us 3-26 in our last 29 games against Florida. unheard of for baseball.

this is baseball, not football or basketball where the better team generally wins.
Whaaaa?

There was a reason Martin wasn't called up before, and we're seeing it first hand

He spent around 8 years in the minors.

Wonder why his minor record is so good.

You have to ask?

spots his mid 80s cutter and gets batters to swing at pitcher pitches. he probably also got by a long ways getting minor league hitters to chase his curve ball.

his stuff isn't good enough for the Majors.

Was that the hot ballgirl that Willingham crashed into earlier in the season who then registered here to tell her tale?

Whaaaa?
what? the Lions could play the Patriots 10 times and not win once. that is expected.

in baseball, even the worst team matched up against the best team should still win 35-40% of the games. Over our last 29 games against the Fish (including tonight) we have a .103 win percentage. That's like winning 1 out of every 10 games against them. :?

We should be hiding Martin and Mock in the minors and then try to trade them, together if necessary, for a major league player.  Any major league player.  The 25th player on some team's roster, would be good.

Too late. They've already been exposed.

no seriously please say no to mock and martin.  it's either a) they don't have major league stuff, b) they don't have major league mound presence or c) all of the above.

zimmermann will come up and replace one of them ... i would like to see det take the place of the other.

yeah, the only way to find out if he could pitch up here is to well, pitch up here.

he earned a chance and got it. too bad he didn't make anything of it. i would have liked to have least seen him get a win since he may never make it back up to the bigs again after his time here.

Oh OK. I missed the other ball girl then. I can't believe that chick was standing behind SF and he didn't even make the effort to get off the bench and swing the bat. Who knows, he may have made contact and gone deep.

exactly.

Martin can be cut the same day as Mock.  But he deserved the chance to sink or swim.

he got the chance, and he sank. so be it.
