I will be singing God Bless America before the 7th inning stretch at the P-Nats game next Sunday, 6/22.  Military Appreciation Night.

I'll also be performing our national anthem before the game on Thurs 7/17.

Free Chick-Fil-A wednesday:

Quote
The Chick-fil-A® restaurants in the Washington, D.C. area will honor the region’s military personnel and their families with Military Appreciation Night on Wednesday, May 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. All active military personnel and those who have honorably served are invited, along with their immediate family members, to enjoy a free meal at a local Chick-fil-A restaurant.

The free Chick-fil-A meal offer is valid with a military ID or proof of service and is only available for dine-in customers. The offer includes a choice of the Original Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich Meal, Chick-fil-A® Spicy Chicken Sandwich Meal or Chick-fil-A® Nuggets Kid’s Meal (4-count).

“We are honored to host our local military families at our metro area restaurants for the second year in a row through this event,” said Ryan Patrylo, franchise Operator of the Chick-fil-A at Brandywine. “We’d like to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude to the dedication of those who have served our nation in the simplest way we know how: with great food.”

For more information about Military Appreciation Night, contact your local restaurant.

71st anniversary of D-Day and also happens to be the weekend of the WWII Airshow in Reading, PA.    It's a bit of a drive and can be tiring hanging around all day.    It is worth it.    FiFi (B-29) was there along with lots of other bombers, fighters, armory hardware, period re-enacters (military and civilian; Allies and Axis), airborne from period aircraft, etc.    Nothing like seeing FiFi come in low over the airfield.     Only thing better was listening in on the old guys telling stories.    :)

Corsairs are beautiful.  Apparently, the length of the cowling made them difficult to land, so the Marines used the Corsair and the Navy used the Hellcat.  eventually, with the Kamikazes and the need for more fighter cover, they started putting Marine Corsair squadrons to supplement the Hellcats on the carriers.

They had a group of re-enacters as the Black Sheep.

Here's the site for the show:
