Rise Against is one of my favorite bands although some of their stuff sounds the same.

Their early indie stuff is supposed to be better

Halladay is gonna kill the NL

wow I forgot how annoying McCarver and Buck are. Bucks call may be more annoying than Bobs homerun flyout call.

He is great, but didn't look very good in that first inning. He should feel like he cost the team both runs. On the flip side, the AL survived with perfectly placed defenders.

Agreed entirely.  I love Re-Education Through Labor, though.  I'd put it way up there with my favorite songs of this decade.

Much better look from Lincecum there. He didn't have control in the 1st. Hopefully the other NL pitchers won't suffer the same issue.

Politics and ethics

All of the group's members are vegetarians and active supporters of PETA, an animal rights organization.[33] Their video for the single "Ready to Fall" contains footage of factory farming, rodeos, and sport hunting, as well as deforestation, melting ice caps, and brush and forest fires. The group has called the video the most important video they have ever made.[34] The Director's Cut of the video was first made available to a PETA website.[35] In 2009, the band was voted Best Animal-Friendly Band by PETA.[36] In addition to being strict vegetarians, all the members of Rise Against, except drummer Brandon Barnes, are straight edge, abstaining from consuming alcoholic beverages or using recreational drugs.[37]

In addition to their support of animal rights, the band has voiced their support for other liberal-minded political causes. During the 2004 United States presidential election, the band was part of Punkvoter,[38] a political activist group, and appeared on the Rock Against Bush, Vol. 1 compilation. During the 2008 presidential election, the band members endorsed Barack Obama.[39] In a news bulletin in early 2009, the band stated: "Few things are more exciting than watching Bush finally release America as his eight year hostage."

Whatd he say?!

It's what he didn't say - he said they are young and have a new stadium, but are not part of the parity seen in baseball right now.

Ew, I hate PETA. :spaz: But I'm not really listening to them because I care so much about their ideology.  I wish they'd support the ASPCA instead or something, though.

Back on topic: David Wright getting a cheap bloop single just now must've made SF's head explode.

I wake up from a nap to see Obama in the booth  :spaz: with Buck and McCarver and if that wasn't bad enough, he starts ragging on the Nats.  :nono: Thanks Lerners!  :whip:

said that it is great there is so much parity around the league...except for the Nationals that is. referenced the youth of the team and the new park. and Buck mentioned that they fired Acta and then they had their laughs at the Nationals' expense.
