We'll be in two of the three games at least.  The young guys have risen to almost every occasion.  I don't see any reason why that won't happen again.  The air in Denver really isn't as bad as most make it out to be.  They should be fine.

I was more referring to the Rockies offense. Tied for Philly with the most runs scored in the NL.

Omaha has an elevation of 1,000+ above sea level. Washington sits at 400 BELOW sea level. That's a big difference when you are trying to adjust to 5,280 above.

that's true, but they're athletes who are in great physical shape.  They shouldn't have a problem with it.  It comes into more play in sports like basketball and football.  A short spurt game like baseball doesn't affect it as much.  They should be fine.  If they were playing in Vail, or Colorado Springs or Fort Collins, I'd be more concerned, they're considerably much higher than Denver is.

Pitching isn't a short spurt activity though.

I bet you Belliard goes 1/5 and that earns him a roster spot the rest of the year.

Sure it is, it's just got more short spurts than the rest of the positions.   ;)  The Rox are only one game over .500 at home this year.  The altitude hasn't really been a big deal for the other teams that have come in either.  I'm really not concerned about it.

It can have an impact, but beyond the physical impact, it can have an effect on the pitches themselves (e.g. the sinker doesn't sink the way it normally does.)

Yep. So why not give Stammen and Zimmermann a couple of extra days in the mile high city. Even if I an wrong, I'm right because it can't hurt them to get used to the altitude. Maybe I just see it as a no brainer.

I know it can.  I'm just saying, it really doesn't have a huge impact on a game like baseball like it does in other sports.  Teams don't seem to send pitchers ahead of the team like they used to, at least not during the regular season.  It's not something I see worth getting worked up over.

No one bothered with lineups or tv info?

Hoping it's on MASN, no digital cable in this room.

Man, this is gonna sound weird but I missed you. The forum tends to lighten up... plus SF is an idiot but he thinks that he provides stats to show otherwise, when you don't, so you're just.... an idiot. :D
