Nice DP. Let's hope he's still warming up a bit.

Right.  It seems the board is evenly divided on who it ought to be between the two that gets called up first, but if you factor in the arbitration clock, that tips the balance.

i don't care who it is as long as they do well.

I'm not a big Balester fan.

why he's young as hell, he has his whole career in front of him.  last year he wasn't great, but if he were in any other organization he wouldn't have made his debut that early.

I've just never been impressed w/ him. That could change, but I'd rather see someone else get a chance right now.

Quote
A few of the outfielders on the NL all-star roster (Carlos Beltran, Raul Ibanez) are banged up right now, either on the DL or on rehab assignment. And thus, the NL squad might be in need of some subs. But Adam Dunn won't be one of them -- even if he's asked. (And he hasn't been yet.) Dunn said today that his right wrist is a little banged up, and he intends to take the three days off to rest.

We have to take pitches - Marquis has a ton of walks.
our hitters are so dumb. up swinging at everything early in the count. feels like a game where Marquis should cruise 7-8+ innings without breaking a sweat.

Got the same impression from Spinman.

Please stop mentioning "quick innings" after two outs, Bob!  Wait until the 3rd out then say it was a quick inning!

Stammen needs to throw that curve more. It's a pretty nice pitch. He throws way too many fastballs.

Curves don't survive in Coors.

If he keeps them low, he'll be fine.

The Nats want this game over with as quick as possible.

8 outs on 25 pitches.

The scouting report might be to get to him early in the count. We really don't know what's going on. Let's see how they go look the 2nd time around.
