That's not an excuse for being shutout or even losing, for that matter.

He's lost five games and his ERA is higher than 0.00 so he give up runs.

He loses and gives up runs!
It's not an excuse, but he's shutout other teams before. It's only the 5th inning. Stop freaking out.
We are 31 games under .500. The team is trying. I don't see them packing it in.
Stammen is setting himself up for a good night. He can go 7 or 8 easily at this pace.

You just contradicted yourself in your first sentence. Jeez.
look at his numbers. 9 seasons prior to this one:

2 Seasons with an ERA 3.00-3.99
3 Seasons with an ERA 4.00-4.99
3 Seasons with an ERA 5.00-5.99
1 Season  with an ERA 6.00+

So, is he awful, or is he league average.

the last 3 years or so he has been about average but in '06 he had a 6.02 ERA in 194.1 innings. He's pretty inconsistent.

It is pretty safe to say that this year is a fluke for him. career year although he had 15 wins in '04.

The last two times Lowe has pitched at National Park he looks uncomfortable like he doesn't like the mound or something?

He had a complete game shutout vs The Dodgers in his last start. Do they suck now?
He gave up 2 hits in 9 innings, and no walks

The Dodgers are 22 games over .500. They can afford to punt games.

definitely. he just put away two batters after having them down 0-2.

we will see the next inning if he folds again the third time through the order.
