So, MDS, no props for the real Belgian bad azz, Phil Gilbert-Godfried, winning the worlds?

I haven't really been keeping up, over the past two months I've become the most casual sports fan alive.  I am, however, gearing up for the first leg of the "Tour de freak You": Los Angeles to San Diego and back in 48 hours.

No San Diego to Tijuana?

To quote your good buddy Henry Garfield - 200 miles is 200 miles.

Earlier today, I completed the Sea Gull (metric) Century starting and finishing in Salisbury, MD. Did the first 52 miles at about a 14.3 clip. Strava didn't record the last 13 miles. Felt good.

Nice, did you ride your hybrid or a road bike?  Thats a really good pace either way. I'm aiming to do 50 miles tomorrow but I might only get in 30 if my leg is still tight. Should be fun either way.

I rode the hybrid for the first 42, then switched with my wife and rode her road bike for about 10 miles before we switched back. It wa an expensive move on her part,,mI will be getting a road bike now. I was really surprised by the difference.

I would love a flat bar road bike, but I have to find a way to ride a lot more before I can justify it.

And flat! I think the biggest hill was a highway overpass.

I fish in that area every fall, this year it will be next weekend.  Often we are fishing in Nassawango Creek when a few thousand bikers blow past us on a bridge crossing.  They apparently moved the Sea Gull a weekend earlier this year.

You can rise your wife's road bike?

A good road bike will make you want to want to ride forever.  I ride my old Trek mountain bike around the Danger Zone, but that's mostly because I don't like leaving my main road bike outside now that I've got an office mate.

Kind of, sort of. Her bike was too small for, it felt like a toy. I was really bent over, but after 40 miles it was a nice change. Plus her clips were different. That's what got me to switch back, her clips bothered the bottoms of my feet.

According to planet money,  you'll do best at a shady pawn shop in NYC- great story,  apparently the risk for bike thieves is so close to zero flooding the market and they're lucky to get a tenth of a penny on the dollar-actually an example of an insanely efficient market (by the way nice locks apparently do little vs an angular grinder)

Anyone that leaves a non-beater bike out on the streets of NYC, or really anywhere, unattended deserves everything they get, mega lock or not. You're also talking about having to go to the upper Bronx to find anyone not using the NYC bike registry which pretty much limits you to junk bikes nobody wants anyway so this is yet another in the Freakonomics nobody-gives-a-crap sweepstakes.

That's looks like a really small frame and isn't really that good of a deal considering you could get a new Raleigh steel road bike for $800 or a Nashbar steel road bike for $500. Are there any bike coops or used bike shops in Lincoln?

Wow haven't seen a Raleigh in ages.  My first bike was a Raleigh upright with a Sturmey Archer 3 speed shifter...and my first serious road bike was one I built from a Raleigh frame made from Reynolds 531 tubing when I first started USCF junior racing.  IIRC I had the old Campy Nuovo Record derailleurs with the friction shifters on the downtube LOL.

freak I'm old.

So, how many major finishes are going to be subject to revocation due to the USPS testimony?

Podiums in the TdF and maybe the Vuelta for Leipheimer while this was going on, plus several lesser tours with Radioshack (swiss, cali, utah, USPCC 2011?)

Stage wins for hincapie ( and his Paris-Roubaix win )

US time trials and roads for Hincapie and Zabriskie?

Or are all the punishments bargained away for testimony?

I'm STUNNED by some of this testimony.  Absolutely freaking floored.  I feel like a naive nag.
