AZ is going to be insufferable for the next month.

You guys remember this?

i'll try to be a tad more tolerable tho, but once dukes hits his first homer, be prepared for a wave or tsunami of worshiping emoticons.

   Get ready.

Doesn't Carpenter sound a bit disappointed?

you've been on this the whole game, and I can't say I really noticed.

but then again, i only half-listen to carpenter anyway. maybe I should pay more attention.

Never do you want your team to give up a lead like that, but if that walk-off gets Dukes rolling, I'd say it was worth it.

Redding is a hero every start during the first three innings and a zero during the next three.
A few weeks ago I proposed half-starts, where you get two guys who can pitch half a start together. I was not joking. My proposal is this: Tim Redding pitches four innings, Matt Chico (or, now that he's in AAA, someone else) pitches three. I honestly think it would be a neat trick.

In all fairness, I'm with him for now.

Three cheers for Elijah Pukes Dukes!  :worship: :worship: :worship:

With two singles, a reach on an error, a triple, and a home run, Elijah Dukes increased his batting average by forty points.

yeah, yeah it was.

This was Elijah's game, for sure.

that's the kind of power we need in the middle of the lineup.

I'm 100% behind Dukes as long as he's wearing our uniform. That doesn't mean I'm going to act like a school girl with a crush.

It's weird to see Dukes in the 2nd hole but if it works I'm all for it. Lopez may even play better out of the leadoff spot.

Some folks wanted Pukes Dukes batting leadoff, too...

but why is it that our power bats can't seem to function in the power slots, but they hit so well at the top of the order? :(

is it too much to ask to get a #4 hitter who can hit 40 HRs and drive in 120?

WISH GRANTED.

:worship: :worship:

Dukes' batting average hadn't been that good, but his OBP kept going up as he took walk after walk.  He was disgusted that he had the strike zone expanded for that at-bat.  Knowing that he had to swing at anything within 6 inches of the plate made the walk-off homer more improbable...

Honestly I don't believe we have had any bona fide power guys. Guillen? NJ? Zimmerman? Young? Keanrs? Neither of those guys fit the bill. Soriano has psychological issues with that. Peña was supposed to be that but I'm almost convinced he is nothing more than a glorified BP hero. I believe Dukes can be a true power hitter but we shouldn't just throw him in the 4 hole just yet. I believe we should let him have all the playing time he needs this season to find his niche and next year he can be moved to the middle of the lineup.

that's kinda what I was getting at.

we could have had that with Soriano if he wasn't so damn selfish and obsessed with stolen bases.
