Nationals vs Marlins, Game 3
« Topic Start: September 05, 2007, 05:39:40 PM »
Game Time: 7:05 pm    TV: MASN    Radio: WTWP 1500, 107.7 FM

Sergio Mitre
5-8, 4.57 ERA

Tim Redding
3-5, 3.27 ERA

(SS) Hanley Ramirez
(2B) Dan Uggla
(RF) Jeremy Hermida
(3B) Miguel Cabrera
(LF) Josh Willingham
(1B) Mike Jacobs
(CF) Cody Ross
(SC) Miguel Olivo
(SP) Sergio Mitre

Felipe Lopez (SS)
Ronnie Belliard (2B)
Ryan Zimmerman (3B)
Austin Kearns (RF)
Ryan Church (CF)
Wily Mo Pena (LF)
Brian Schneider (SC)
Robert Fick (1B)
Tim Redding (SP)

_______________________________________ ______________

Mitre remains in a rough stretch, as he dropped his third straight decision in his last
outing. In 3 1/3 innings, the right-hander gave up six runs on seven hits, while tying
a franchise record by hitting three batters in the game. Actually, Mitre became the
first Marlin and the 24th pitcher in MLB history to log three hit batters in the same
inning. Mitre's last win was on July 29 at San Francisco. He has given up at least
five earned runs in four straight outings.

Redding was shaky during his five innings on the mound against the Giants. He walked
five batters and retired the side in order only once, and that occurred in the fifth
inning. By the time he left the game, he already threw 104 pitches.

How nice would it be to sweep the Marlins under the rug?

Very Nice.  We swept them at RFK back in May.  I can't believe we have to play them again next week..

This our sad version of a playoff race: a fourth place race.

That's why we have to take advantage of these meetings because we only see them one more time this season.

Did anyone see what happened to the Phillies today? I was watching the game but switched away when they took an 8-2 lead in the 7th. Then I learned they blew the lead and lost 9-8.

Manny,
Please stop playing Robert Fick!
Why not Tony Batista at 1B?
Now that the Roster has increased play someone else if necessary.
We know what Fick can do = NOTHING!!!!

Hey guys, don't worry.  Just wanted to say hi and let you know that I won't be hanging out here tonight.  One, I don't want us to lose and two, I have a PTA mtg. at 7:30.

GO NATS!!!

Yep.. thanks alot Philly.  Now we go to Atlanta to face a team that is pumped up opposed to being down in the dumps after getting blown out and losing 2 of 3.
