here's my guess for his line (a rather hopeful guess)

7 innings, 2 ER, 5 hits, 2 walks, 5 K

I'm just going to throw this out there, but Martis is batting .267 for the year.  That's better than anyone who will be coming off the bench.

I'm really hoping Martis gets to 6-0. His ERA over his last three starts is 2.11.

I'm hoping something like this happens: 8 IP 1 ER 3 H 5 BB 3 K
But I'm guessing he'll probably only go 6. :(

I'm just hoping for less than 3 unearned runs

the nats have 5 starts that have gone beyond the 6th.  two of those have been pulled one out into the 7th.  Two have gone 7.  And then there's Shairon's complete game.  Martis and Lannan each have one of the 7's and 6.1's.

Gotta save their arms for the stretch run. ;)

I'm not feeling at all good about tonight's game
(Thought I'd try some reverse psychology....)

So we're 11-7,490. If Shairon wins tonight, we'll be 12-89,274. He'll have six wins. I remember when J-Zim-nn had two wins and he had two wins, it was the first time in history that rookie pitchers had all four of a teams wins. So I would have to imagine that if he wins tonight it'd be the first time in history a rookie pitcher had half of a teams wins in over 35 (38 to be exact) games.

And yes it might seem insanely trivial, but at this point all we have are our biggest pitching match-up ever, first battle of the Ross's and s*** like this to keep us even remotely sane.

You forgot the most important part of the line:   ND

Who blows it for us tonight?  We should start a pool.

You might as well assign numbers and roll a die.

We got the one off my list out of the way.
1 game where Pitts' pitching shuts down our bats.
1 game where our offense puts up a bazillion runs
1 game where the bullpen gacks it up.  Check.
1 game where the bullpen hangs on by the skin of their teeth because the Pirates fail to execute offensively.
Tonight, we get a bazillion runs.  Nats win 11-5.

Looks like he may be close though. Today was the first time he's pitched in back to back games all year. Both shut out innings. I have a feeling they are testing him to see how he responds in multiple appearances in a short amount of time.

Did you use a proper D&D 20 sided die?

I'm going with Wells since his jersey number is closest to 33.

[eagleskin] Clearly 3 stands for Tavarez, as 3 means three amigos, and Tavarez is some sort of mexican so he must be one of Manny's amigos. [/eagleskin]
