I guess our organization is afraid that our pitchers will get injured by just throwing 100 pitches as opposed to 75-90.

That is stupid....

I'm really hoping that we do it so that Boone PHs, then moves to 3B, Casto moves to LF, then the new pitcher takes Pena's spot.

Fine, don't listen to my awesome advice ;)

Belliard is 0/14 between Harrisburg and Potomac but he would be a huge upgrade over Lopez.

That makes no sense.

That's how bad Lopez is. Just look how lackadaisical he looks out there. For the last 2-3 weeks he has shown no hustle, no desire, and no effort. Manny sees this too but he has no choice but to play Lopez because there are no other options currently.

Here comes the parade of trash relievers! 3-1 game might as well be 11-1.

and this is a huge factor, believe it or not.

these people know that the FO won't call up anyone to replace them, so it doesn't matter whether they perform or not.  people like Lopez and especially Pena know that they've got supreme job security.

What happened to the good old days when pitchers threw 400+ innings per season, regardless of pitch counts? :D

Too much fear and too much money invested in these guys. So stupid.

I wonder how many people actually think the game has gotten better over the years? This might be the only sport where a lot of people say that it hasn't.

Nice inning. Now watch, our relievers will actually have a rare good night but our offense will not score more than 1 run for the rest of the night so it will be meaningless.  >:(

I don't see it as meaningless if it means our relievers are actually getting better. And don't give me the whole "It's because it wasn't a pressure appearance" type of thing b/c I've seen these guys fail in those situations, too.
