Clippard definitely deserves another start.

i thought Mock did too.

Clip did better than Mock, and we don't really have two spots. If Bergmann has another terrible start, let one of those guys get a start for him.

This is the direct result of these pitchers not being allowed to throw enough innings when they were with Columbus.

Our player development is a joke.
I agree. This organization is pathetic.

perhaps.

but I think it is a direct result of taking too many pitches to get your outs.

regardless of how many innings you throw in the minors, it shouldn't take you more than 100 pitches to get through the 5th.

How so? (the first part)

The only pitcher that has pitched over 100 pitches this year for any of our minor league teams was Jason Bergmann.

Ya I realized that I read what he said wrong.

either way, it falls on Rizzo and Co. to set the development plan for the organization, and perhaps they need to adjust this.

Our pitchers in the Minors usually go 5 innings and at the most they'll go is 6.  Even if their pitch count is reasonable after 5 or 6 they are not allowed to go another inning or even two more.

So can someone tell me why we're wearing green caps?  Is it supposed to be symbolic at how sick Nats' fans are at the prospect of losing 4 in a row to the Giants?

But when you are built to only throw 60-70 pitches, it's inevitable that you're going to tire if your pitch count DOES get higher than that.

it seems that the John Pattersons and Shawn Hills of the world are making our organization overly afraid of letting our pitchers pitch a lot of innings for fear of injuries.

that's my theory.

My theory is that they don't want them to wear out their arms, some other theories I've heard is to give the bullpen some work.

I'm really hoping that we do it so that Boone PHs, then moves to 3B, Casto moves to LF, then the new pitcher takes Pena's spot.

I guess our organization is afraid that our pitchers will get injured by just throwing 100 pitches as opposed to 75-90.

It's some sort of evironment friendly broadcast station that they are supporting.

This is still doable... as long as it doesn't get any bigger, this is a managable deficit.

Lopez is such dog crap it's not even funny anymore.  Belliard is 0/14 between Harrisburg and Potomac but he would be a huge upgrade over Lopez.
