 You act like the guy wasn't completely dominating the minors.
yeah - the MINORS...sheesh, some of you guys need to watch some other teams besides the Nats...your satisfaction threshold is about as low as it can be.

he did pretty well initially for the Yankees when he pitched there.  I think he maybe had 1 bad start out of like 6 or 7. and for his initial starts he was completely dominant.  that's why we traded for him.

this isn't Clippard's major League debut, so simmer down.

It makes a lot more sense to me now why Dukes walks so much. He LOOKS to walk. He's late on 90% of his swings because he assumes it's going to be a ball.

He had more than just 1 bad start with the Yankees.

His 6 starts last season with NY:

6 IP 1 ER
4 IP 3 ER
5 IP 3 ER
5 IP 1 ER
3.2 IP 6 ER
3.1 IP 5 ER

ok, he had 2 bad starts. 2 dominant, and 2 were average, but he didn't pitch a lot of innings.

that doesn't change the fact that this isn't his major league debut.

he's pitching well tonight thus far.

Nasty changeup. That looks to be his best pitch. I thought he had a good curve too but he has hardly thrown it.

I'm not ragging on Clippard JMad...I'm ragging on the Nats for being so effed up that they needed to call him up early.

It's a 12-6 and it is money, too. That change, though, is one of the best I've seen. If he can learn to locate his fastball, he could be dominant. That's a big if, though.

I would rather them call up a bunch of youngins, than continue to put up with this wasted money that we throw out there every night.

I'm all for the Youth Movement. at least we'd be watching a sucky team that really has some future hope and is hungry to develop into a winner, that we can watch grow up before our very eyes.

instead we are looking at mostly settled, crappy journeymen who are content to suck for the rest of their lives while collecting their checks, knowing that management won't replace them.

Anything is better than having to see Chico up here. Clippard's the same age as him (for another day).
