After using five relievers, the Nationals hope Shawn Hill (2-3, 3.00) can provide a quality start and not overburden the bullpen. Hill has been solid this season, but has had uneven run support from his team. He pitched 6 1-3 innings against the Padres on Tuesday, allowing three runs and four hits in a 3-0 loss. It was the third time this season the team failed to score a run while he was on the mound.

This is Hill's first time facing the Cubs.

Cubs manager Lou Piniella is putting his faith in Angel Guzman (0-0, 2.45 ERA) to complete the sweep. The right-hander went 0-6 with a 9.28 ERA in 10 starts last year and has made four relief appearances thus far, spanning 7 1-3 innings.

According to Piniella, Guzman, who has yet to record a major league win, will get at least three turns in the rotation.

Angel Guzman, who began the season in the Cubs' bullpen before being sent to Triple-A Iowa, will return and start Sunday's game against the Nationals. It's a curious choice because Guzman has been pounded in three minor league starts with a 12.19 ERA over 10 innings. Manager Lou Piniella said Guzman will make at least three starts as the fifth pitcher in the rotation.
It doesn't get any easier than this.  If they can't score runs today then they will never score runs.

They have Lopez and Church back playing in the positions they hopefully will be occupying for the rest of the season.

I hope they leave Casto at 1B until NJ comes back too.

I was thinking the same thing but with a couple moves coming up this week I think he could be one sent down considering he still has options. He could use the time in the minors. I wish they had just left him in the minors for a couple months before bringing him up.

I hope so man. After Tuesday night's loss, I vowed not to call my girlfriend until the Nats won another game and so far I've been true to my vow...  :?

I don't know about that. She may be thanking the Nats for their dismal play. I had to take my phone off the hook because she was calling me all the time.

Yeah he doesn't say very much. He just says generic stuff about being happy and being with good people. Debbi Taylor is annoying.

Is it me or has the stream of Orioles commercials slowed down?

Why is the Nats game on MASN2 and the Orioles on MASN?

Because the Orioles game came on first (1:30).

Maybe people complained.  Now they play that annoying Ricoh commercial that I hate so much instead.

Hey Chief I've read your complaints about that commercial but I have yet to even notice it once. I guess I'm not paying that much attention. That's why I asked if I was the only one that had noticed that Orioles commercials have considerably lessened.

Especially since there were never that many Nats' commercials, in existence, let alone being shown during Orioles games.
