Would need a 40 man spot to open up for that to happen, though.

Hope it does.

Baseball Prospectus, by Kevin Goldstein

He also has drastically improved his walk-to-strikeout ratio this year. It's lightyears ahead of where he's been. I'd like to see him get a look next time an OF gets hurt/sucks.

I'd almost rather see him up here over Moore. Moore is getting wasted up here because they won't play him. Certainly hurting his development as a hitter.

The bonafide beast known as Corey Brown hit another jack today, his 9th of the season.

Batting .282 with 9 Doubles, 2 Triples, 9 HRs, 21 RBIs, 31 BBs/36 Ks in 170 ABs

at this point he's an upgrade over bernadina/ankiel, offensively.

He's having a great year... but unless there's major injury he won't get called up... because calling him up would require a 40 man roster spot.

Where will he eventually play? Harper Werth LaRoche and Morse will all presumably be back next year, at some point, Moore will get sent back down and start raking again. That gives you a competition of Morse, LaRoche and Moore for first and left with Harper and Werth playing center and right

DeRosa hasn't played in weeks and that won't change in near future either.

I agree about Bernadina though.

Saw Brown in Toledo against Mud Hens. Three games, three HRs. Probably ready for the call-up, since he has power and can field...but he's blocked by those two, for now. Good to know he's an option, though.

Lefty  pop.  I thought the reason they were playing Espinosa over Lombo for a while was that they need lefty pop?

He's been playing it regularly. Saw no great plays from him, but he had no real tough catches to make.  Seems to be fast enough.

Also Kilgore gave him and Billy Burns a little writeup.
