I love my old car, my crappy clothes, and I go to pretty good restaurants (thanks to Restaurant.com) - I need some new sneakers for 30 or 40 bucks.

I'd spend that cash on toys (iPhone, netbook, stereo system) and a condo. That's all I want/need right now. Call me crazy.

If you are Elijah Dukes, 400,000 is like making the minimum wage. He has to pay for his babies, his wife, and pay to impress his future lady. Do you think John Lannan is able to ride around in a old car like you? Because I don't, he needs to drive a nice car because an ace doesn't drive a crappy car from the 80's.

Well, those are two strikingly different situations.  No, Lannan doesn't NEED a brand new car.  He probably doesn't NEED to drive a clunker either. Afford and Need are two different things.  Dukes needs to make 400K because he made poor decisions unrelated to baseball.

If I ever meet John Lannan, I'll tell him an Ace doesn't drive an 89 Camry.

I'm sure he's not.  But he also doesn't strike me as a pimped out Escalade guy either.

What if John Lannan has babies and a wife and an ex-wife and a future wife.  Who says John Lannan isn't a playa?  :icon_mrgreen:

It looks like the same old crap to me.

The Riggleman era started out with more failure of the same sort (Mannyesque management). Yes, the offense was sad. But going into the top of the 9th down 3-1 with Nick due up at the bottom of the inning called for the bullpen to at least keep things as is. 3 pitchers and 2 hits later they had given up 3 more runs. Pathetic. Just pathetic. At what point do they develop an intolerance for relief pitchers who issue walks? Tavares comes out and issues a leadoff walk to Soriano - a free swinger having an off year. It's inexcusable. That is when the pitching change should have been made. Instead, like Manny, Tavares is allowed to remain in the game and do more damage before a change is made about two batters too late. This has happened all season. Relief pitchers who come in and walk the first guy they face. It should result in a hefty fine, but they have to at least let the staff know that walking batters is unacceptable.

Can we nickname Zimm "Garbage Time"

As long as we can nickname Julian Tavarez "Garbage Time Creator."

Either way I think he's sexy as hell.  Although sadly not a good pitcher anymore :(

Or ever.

(Image removed from quote.)  By a show of hands, who here believes that if Dunn had hit that same jack sportsfan would rip him for hitting a meaningless bomb in a blowout loss?  (Image removed from quote.)

how many runs has Dunn produced/saved tonight?

terrible night by the whole team. I'm so sick of Guzman. please Rizzo, trade everybody!

he is a net 'even' for the game. +1 for the RBI and -1 for the pop out.

So that would make Zimm -4 for the night, right?

More of the same...

I did like when Bob brought up, after Zimmerman's homerun, that he and Wil Nieves were the only right handed batters to hit homers into the RF bullpen. Both against the Cubs. Prompting Dibble to exclaim, (paraphrased - at work) "Wil is pinch hitting for Dunn right now! ... Just kidding."

That looks like just about every single other picture I've seen of him.

I drive a 1992 purple Lexus. With purple seats. I'd recommend this to Lannan because it's the perfect balance between pimpin' and wimpin'.
