The Nats offense was like my high school sex life. Got to second plenty of times, never crossed home plate.

We did alright shouting down the Cardinals fans despite the Nats but I hate the way Cardinals fans disappear like cockroaches. At least N.L. East teams have some balls when you want a brawl.

Just got home. How did this happen?

Did Jackson just convince Rizzo not to offer a contract for next year?

OK...remember Tug MacGraw?  You gotta BELIEVE!!!!

I'll be at the game tomorrow so I won't be online.    I expect support for the effort.

I expect a win. Remember Mazeroski? Remember how the Mighty Yankees could not be beaten? Just win!!

such a depressing game, i felt bad for everyone at the park today, they got absolutely nothing to cheer for.

Hopefully tomorrow is much better.

Don't. The Nats might not have showed up but the fans sure did. We might not have won but we did rock the house.

The fans were there today and ready to cheer and it was 4-0 before you could even sit down. Embarrasing. I expect the same tomorrow.

This.  The crowd was waiting for ANYTHING to cheer for to push this team.  I remember waiting in line for some food early in the game and the crowd roared and I thought, "whoa, something must have happened!"  It was a single. I said to my friend, "if that's a single how loud will it get if someone hits a home run?"

I want Jayson Werth and Edwin Jackson to refund my money. Total and complete bums. Edwin should be left off the roster if they move on, he doesn't want to be in DC anymore.

Zim and Desmond are playing like men possessed and don't deserve this garbage.

The weather was nice and I wasn't at work. The rest of today ate monkey ass.

Screw Teddy and the other presidents, they should have left them out entirely.

I fully expect a loss tomorrow.

The Crowd was great...45K paid...

Frank was great...

The flyover was great...

The fans were great...except for a number of embarassing loudmouths that think that their sophomoric heckling is amusing or somehow helpful.

The team didn't show up...lead by their manager, again.

Does our Pitching Coach not know that these guys aren't ready when they go out there and get lit up like they do?

I was glad to be among those there for the first DC playoff game in 79 years.  Other than that...the game and the 3 hour drive home to Richmond sucked.

:lmao: I think you sat near me.

Frank's pitch was one of the best first pitches I've ever seen.

3 hours?    Rush hour, eh?    My son goes to school there and it's usually 2 hours for me.

The crowd essentially exploded with Harpers pop fly.

As completely and obviously disappointing/frustrating/crushing/upsetting/infuriating today's game was, just being there was amazing. I don't have high hopes for tomorrow, but I hope to be proven very wrong. If this team is able to advance beyond tomorrow, beyond Friday, and into the NLCS, it is going to be up to the bats far more than the pitching. Run support will help the pitching relax and settle in.

But honestly, I just want to experiencing a playoff win in DC. I want to see what this town can do.

Someone's post about Espinosa reminded me: :wtf: was with that call on Espi after his bunt? The Ump was calling it safe and then ruled him out!? What did it look like on TV?

I was pretty ticked at that call, I wouldn't have really cared if the ump hadn't originally thought it was safe.

One of the lead stories on ESPN.com's MLB page:

Umpire Jim Joyce misses call
Updated: October 10, 2012, 3:28 PM ET
Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- It's another umpiring call that went the St. Louis Cardinals way this postseason.

And it's not the first time TV replays show umpire Jim Joyce missed a call at first base.

Joyce ruled Nationals batter Danny Espinosa out when he bunted with a runner on and no outs in the second inning of Wednesday's Game 3 of Washington's NL division series against St. Louis. Nationals manager Davey Johnson came out to argue as fans booed.

The Cardinals benefited from a disputed infield-fly rule call in their wild-card game victory at the Atlanta Braves last week. Fans at that game responded by tossing trash on the field.

Joyce is best known for blowing a call at first base to ruin Detroit pitcher Armando Galarraga's bid for a perfect game in 2010.
