Dunn goes yard on what was actually one of Volstad's better pitches of the night.

NatsAddict, I feel bad for you.

Morrison might be a good hitter, but he's a butcher in LF.

OT: I've heard of doctors telling people they have 6 months to live but is there ever a time when they say a person has only 6 weeks left?

I'm not sold on LoMo yet.  The talk is he will stay in LF next year, with Coghlan returning to the IF.

Yes, absolutely.

Basically what they told my grandmother who had cancer.

awful AB by Morse. But also dubious coaching. It seemed he went up there wirh zero situational awareness or an understanding of how he would be pitched.

He's been pretty bad ever since Morgan went down. Not too surprising, but pretty depressing.

Pancreatic cancer

Someone just called me to tell me this was told to them today. But he has a habit of being overly dramatic so I'm trying to determine how much weight to lend to it. He said it's colon cancer, phase 4 (whatever that means).

Yeah... that's not a good sign.

You don't get better from Stage 4 cancer.

According to About.com...

Quote
In general, approximately 8-15% of people with stage 4 colon cancer are still alive five years after their diagnosis.

  He began having issues back in 2005 but neglected to get checked out and now it's 5 years later and he just went and got checked last week and got the results today. I'm going to treat this as a serious threat then.

Yeah man, that's what happened with my grandmother. Complained about throat problems 5-6 years before she passed. Turns out, if she checked it was lung cancer from the beginning.
