Livan Hernandez (15-10 3.98)
Hernandez (15-10, 3.98 ERA in 2005) will face the Mets for the 29th time in his career. He is 10-10 with a 4.52 ERA against them. He made four with the Braves, and threw the Mets' first pitch of the season in 2003 and 2004 with decidedly different results. He was the losing pitcher in his Mets debut on March 31, 2003, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks in 3 2/3 innings against the Cubs in windswept and chilly Shea Stadium. The Mets lost, 15-2. He beat the Braves in Atlanta on Opening Day '04, allowing two runs in six innings in a 7-2 game. His record and ERA in six Opening Day starts are 3-3 and 4.42. Glavine has beaten the Expos-Nationals more often than he has beaten any opponent -- 30 times. He won three of four decisions against them last season.
