So I googled "greased lightning" to try to find a witty image to post, and this was one of the results (Image removed from quote.)
Yeah. Wait until you are riding with someone with knobbies. The noise alone will make you want to tell him to switch tires.
Give that certain someone a big Happy Birthday from me!
It has brakes.
Can fixed gears have brakes?
You'd have to be pretty dumb to ride a fixed-gear in traffic without at least a rear brake.
To be fair, my bike only has a single front brake.
Now that's living dangerously...
Especially today since my front brake is screwed up. To be honest, I've never liked rear brakes for some unknown reason.
There's probably a clinical term for people who like flying over their handlebars.
How do you have a bike with no brakes? Do you just go all Flinstones to stop or what?
oOOOOooohhh, I thought it was like the bikes I had when I was a kid where you pushed the pedals back to apply the brakes.
A fixed gear, in theory, doesn't need brakes because if you don't pedal the bike doesn't move since the chain is fixed.
I saw that. I can't expect that lasting very long without someone having a lot of money to waste.
They already have the tennis venue on Maine AVE, SW. Got Nats' Park and the cycling as well all within 12 blocks. At one time they also mentioned a soccer (United) stadium in the area or right across the Anacostia.
