Bergmann had a respectable ERA during the first half of the season and had only one win to show for it. It didn't help that Washington's offense struggled all season. In Bergmann's starts, for example, the Nationals have averaged 2.27 runs. Talk to Bergmann about the lack of run support, and he'll tell you that the bats will wake up sooner or later.

Able to reset its rotation after the All-Star break, Florida has Willis is lined up to open the second half. The D-Train has certainly had his struggles at home this season: In 10 starts at Dolphin Stadium, the 25-year-old is 2-5 with a 4.94 ERA. Willis has faced the Nationals once this season, beating them on Opening Day at RFK Stadium. He gave up two runs (one earned) in six innings that day. In his last start before the break, Willis was not involved in the decision, yielding five runs (four earned) in six innings at Los Angeles.

Good luck tonight, Nats.  I wish I was listening in tonight but I have to have dinner with the in-laws.  Maybe if I get out and back in time.

Fry up a second of fish steak tonight!  Rock'em Chico!

I'd like to see our batters show as much plate discipline as last night - don't like langerhans and dmitri swinging at the first pitch ... still mitre is a ground ball specialist ...

Shut em down Matty!

Hasn't he only seen them once before? In April? I think it's a bit early to say they own his life - let's see how he responds to the home run ...

The 24-year-old rookie, though, is 0-1 with an 8.31 ERA in three starts against the Marlins. He didn't make it past the fifth inning in any of those outings.

I stand corrected, 3 times.
