Predictions: The #Nats will sweep the Yankees and Rays. #Strasburg will pitch a no-hitter against the Rays. I feel it.

Didn't Klej get a save in the '09 series?

All I remember was Lannan dominating those Yankees, I was at awe and thinking why can't he be an ace :?

The game is six hours away.  This is the best GDT I have ever seen.  The board may actually implode.

That is all.

Oh, that and

YANK ME:

My MiL just reserved a table at a Mongolian BBQ/Stir Fry place at 7:30. For my wife's Bday.

I (an old white guy) was walking across a main street in DC this morning.   Had my Nats' pullover on.   There was an older black guy sitting in front of one of the federal buildings.  He had a NY hat on.   We spotted each other and smiles of acknowledgement swept our faces.   We commenced talking crap.    What a great way to start your day.   Told 'im I'd see him Monday at the same corner to talk about it.   We both laughed and went on our way.

Or he has a smart phone.

Modern technology can be a life saver.    Just hope he doesn't use the old "I gotta go to the bathroom." trick.    Stick it under the napkin and go with that  ...   and NO volume.   That's a dead give-away.    Slate's MiL did it on purpose.

I saw that game, my first New New Nats game

- Wore my 1959/60 Mitchell&Ness Killebrew jersey, signed by Harmon himself
- Had been given the jersey in the late '90s. Loved it.
- Swore never to wear it until we had a team again
- Had tickets for a game in 2005, but had a heart attack on Father's Day. The kids gave me tickets for Nats/Yankees, Father's Day 2006, and hoped I would survive the heat and the 1-year anniversary
- Sat in the RF upper deck, watching the Yankees I had seen for years against my team...at last...
- It was hot in the old jersey, but it was a good game. Sad that the Yankees had a one-run lead with (I think) Mariano Rivera pitching the ninth.
- AND THEN LIGHTNING STRUCK! I heard the crack, lost sight of the ball for a second, saw it land beyond the fence and we went nuts...delirious. I had been to many Nats games in the '50s and '60s, but never saw a walk-off or a come-from-behind.
- Oh, did we sing and dance and laugh all the way down to the exits!

Time to do it again.

Viewing note: just to prepare, watch "Damn Yankees", and imagine Bryce Harper as Joe Hardy.

I feel you.  I have toddler duty - zero chance I can be in front of a TV before 7:30 at the earliest.  And then either have to take a break to put him to bed, or risk a meltdown.  Thank God for DVR.  This is also why I won't be on the GDT tonight - because I'll probably be 30 minutes late on the DVR.

Visons of the old "DC is Jaime Town" banner that hung for years at RFK in honor [sic?] of Jaime Moreno dance in my head, right next to Eddie Murphy as Jessie Jackson crooning "Don't let me down..." etc.

If it weren't against my religion (cheapness) I'd buy you 200 beers for that post.  Most laughing I've done in days.

We're not a conservative Christian internet radio station that talks about gays and Obama destroying our Christian nation, so we're good.

Don't be a cheap ass.

I'm not. Just really can't justify paying 15 bucks to watch a game of baseball. Hence why I haven't been to a game this year.

Also, I have 3G and I doubt I would get a decent stream. I don't with Youtube or any other stream service.

Oh well ... maybe I'll sneak a little radio in. Put a headphone in one ear
