12 runs in 3 games without our big slugger? I'm excited for what this offense can do once Ankiel and Morse come back.

Mattheus cost us the game by giving up 2 in the 8th. His outing Saturday was a mirage.

Once Morse comes back LaRoche and Desmond will just drop off the face of the Earth. Only one person can hit at a time. It's Natitude.

Everyone has a bad day now and again. I agree that he lost us the game but he is a solid bull pen arm.

Ha.  That was my reaction too.  Averaging 4 runs per game really isn't very good.  Though the Cubs pitcher today was impressive - throwing 96 and 97 in the 9th inning.

Werth looked less lost - had a couple of near-hits, at least.  LaRoche looks good.  Zim will hit.  Espinosa and Desmond look like they both will contribute this year.  Nady instead of Morse today may have been the difference in the game.

Nady did make a nice catch in the eight inning.

There were a couple of key plays that game - the grounder that Burnett induced was a few feet from being a routine double-play ball.  Instead, it was an rbi single.  The passed ball for Ramos turned into a run when Soriano's fly ball became a sac-fly with Castro on 3B instead of 2B.

We probably caught our share of good breaks, but those were two that really went against us.

Had to miss the game today. Was following on my phone. Wish we could have gotten the sweep, but 2 out of 3 on the road is not a bad way to start the year!

Should have thrown him against the righty instead.

I've got faith that they can make 1,500 this season.  I doubt they'll beat the Dbags record, but they're damn sure going to try.

I could care less about strikeouts as long as we make it to october.
