Milledge must be pretty tense. He's squirming. Nice hit, Lastings!

He was pretty pissed at the media earlier. I think he thought that stuff from yesterday was made into a bigger issue than it actually was. He told them it was none of their business why he was late.

Nieves in as a defensive replacement.

OT: Jordan Zimmermann roughed up tonight. 4 runs on 6 hits and 1 walk in 5.2 innings.

As long as that happens only 1 time out of every 5 or 6, I'm OK w/ it. Even the most dominant pitchers get roughed up from time to time. Let's see how he responds in his next outing.

I didn't know Nieves was even on the team until a few weeks ago but I am really liking him.

Dempster's little glove twitch must throw some hitters off.

WMP put a nice swing on that ball. We're getting a lot of unlucky outs tonight. We're swinging well, though. Well, better than in most of the games this season.

That'd be nice, but it's not true. You need to watch some other teams play.

He's a character anyway. I can see that pitchers could take a disliking to him... all that motioning and gesturing.

You're actually attempting to seriously discuss baseball with AZ?

Have fun with that!

I noticed that, too. I guess you can learn to tune it out, but it'd piss me off if I was hitting.

Some pitchers really do hate that, but others appreciate it. His telling Ayala to keep his should from flying out really did do the job.

I added a rally mongoose to our menagerie of good luck animals. Let's see if it works.

Kearns looks really clumsy lately. Nice throw, though. He does fire it in there.

Uh oh. Thank goodness it's Ramirez on second. Need the DP here, Ayala. (he's a flyball pitcher, though :?)

Lol, the Cubs waste strikes and possible outs with their bunting attempts.  Classic Lou Piniella.

Soto can smash the ball. Good call on the walk. Ayala's probably out now.

Why are we loading the bases with only one out when the batter has struck out three times tonight?
