We will make the playoffs before they do. No doubt. They are so old it's crazy. Very little young talent.
Who could they add? Maybe Espinosa? There isn't much in terms of pitching that they could call up from Hagerstown.
I am going to agree with Ronny on this one. I think the Orioles have a lot more going for them than us, at this point. They actually have a really good farm system and were able to cash in on the Bedard trade last year. The Nats and the Orioles are both in real tough divisions, so I think it is tough to say which team will make the playoffs first, but IMO the Orioles are in a much better position than us (I mean c'mon last place)
The O's are a last place team too. They'll never finish ahead of the Yankees/Sox/Rays. Look at how mediocre the Mets/Phils are. They are old teams too. The NL East is up for grabs.
That was pitch nr 100 for Bergmann for 6 innings.Beside the horrible 2nd inning, he has done worse.
a last place team (61-67), but not THE last place team (46-84).
does 'nr' mean number?
Yeah, but do you really see them finishing ahead of the Yankees, R Sox and Rays any time soon? And even the Jays for that matter?
Another Orioles' note. Did you guys hear about how they are turning Loewen into an outfielder next season? Supposidly he was an awesome hitter.
I just think they have a better chance than we do, for at least the next two years. After that, maybe my mind will change, depending on what kind of moves we make and who can accumulate value in the minors.
The A's were idiotic for dealing Harden. Almost criminal that they gave him away for almost nothing in return.
Yeah, I heard that. The O's rotation is shaky. Cabrera is never going to cut it. Guthrie is good. Liz is a bust. They have some young guys but I doubt they are ready.
