ESPN is reporting that former Expo & Met Gary Carter has been diagnosed with four small brain tumors:

He'll undergo surgery after which they'll know if they are malignant.

Saying a prayer for one of the all-time greats

Terrible, horrible ailment :( He's not that old, either!

Wishing him the best.  I'll tip a glass to his number next time I'm at NP.

Bad and sad. It was just great to watch the Mets when Carter came to NY.

This is such a shock, feels like we're seeing a lot of our 'heroes' go down lately. I pray for him and his family.

Yes.  Exactly.  Damn, I'm just so glad that he was here to see his number on the wall at Nats Park.

disgusting.

Not really shocking though, pretty much the way sports memorabilia people are for he most part.  I had a dealer last year trying to sell me an autographed baseball tell me "if he comes out of the closet this going to be worth a mint."  Anyone wanna guess the "he" in question?

No, I pass.   In addition, someone ought to buy the Mets shirt and shove it up the announcer's ass.

I'll give you a hint - 3 Cy Youngs, member of the tribe, and a lefty.  I didn't buy the ball and I don't believe him.  I hate scumbag memorabilia people.

Steve Carlton? Gay part aside, it's probably sad that I don't know who you're talking about.

Not CC/Lee, neither has won 3 Cy Youngs.
