I've always been positive about Stammen. I've been driving his bandwagon for a while. Same with Lannan, Willingham, and Harris. You won't hear me saying much negative stuff about them.

I was a Willingham fan before it was cool being a Willingham fan.

I removed DPMOmaha's thread.  He's 1-0, while PANats is 0-1, we need to get PANats a win here.

so you saying PA is the Garrett Mock of our rotation?  Need you to step up PA 8)

Regress? This wasn't a fluke. The man was an all-star last year.

Jason Marquis was an all-star last year too. That doesn't mean anything.

true, but after throwing that many pitches the odds of a disaster start next time up rise dramatically.

Jimenez has to regress to the mean. Plus, he threw 128 pitches on Saturday and he can't recover with 4 days rest that fast, he is no Livan in that regard. The only place Jimenez can go is down.
Mmmm, I don't think he'll throw another no-no, but the dude's a really good pitcher.  If Livan's on like he was the other day, I could see us winning, but I don't see us winning easily.

I agree that it will be tough for Jimenez to go more than 6ip after throwing 128 pitches and only getting three days rest, but I don't see us getting many runs if any off him. If Livan can go dead again we will have a good shot to win this game.

Do you want to compare career stats?

That's sportsfanian statistics. I'm mostly a Bayesian myself.

ESPN just broke that the Rockies president was found dead in his hotel this morning of what appears to be natural causes.

Platoon splits.  Look at the platoon splits.

BTW - De LaRosa I think is one of the 5 fastest fastballs among LH starters in MLB.  (CC, Kershaw, Lester, DLR).  DLR at 93.3 last year.

I don't understand speed. Dwight Gooden could throw the proverbial Strawberry through a Battleship yet Sid Fernandez had a significantly higher K rate while never breaking 90.

Detwiler?

2009: 91

2007: 93

http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=2859&position=P#pitchtype

The 93 is a little skewed because it came in 1 inning and it came as a relief pitcher. The 91 is more representative of his stuff, though I've seen him hit 95 on the MASN gun a few times.

I played an MLB TODAY game on 2K10 today. Scott Olsen went 7 innings with 7 ks and 2 er. We ended up winning 4-2. Desmond had a 2 run homer in the first. Pretty awesome.

So will they still have the game tonight, since the Rockies Team President died this morning? You know, out of respect to the Rockies team -would they postpone the game tonight?
