I really love this concept, but getting to the game with only 30 minutes to spare is the deal-breaker.  I arrive when the gates open.

Velocity Five in Centreville is one of their stops.

Yes. Someone was asking for a stop not far from Sterling.

I'd be bored out of my mind if I got to the stadium that early.

Usually Blue's entertaining the early arrivals up in the Loft.

Don't forget about certain people conducting conference calls and working from the Red Porch.  :stir:

Gotta get there early if you want a spot under the tap

I was referring to myself.  I think Blue was there for one of them.

Been there, done that. Those weekday games are murder.

Thirty minutes before sounds perfect to me.

Yep, gives you time to amble over, grab a beer or food, and get to your seat just in time for the 1st pitch.

If I'm in my seat for longer than three minutes before the fist pitch something is wrong.

I like to get there 45 minutes early or so and walk around some. Then grab some food and beer; if I'm not in my seat 15 minutes before 1st pitch, I get antsy.

I'm just curious... All these folks that get there early, how many games a year do you average? I know for myself, going 70+ times a year, I go nuts if I get there before the game starts. Back in 2005, getting there a half hour early was normal... now, I just can't imagine anyone getting there early that goes more than ten times a year, but obviously personal preference factors in quite a bit here. Still, arriving a half hour early for 60+ games per year seems nuts to me, curious if anyone actually does that.

I did 40+ games last year and never got there less than an hour early, most days I got there when the gates opened.  I also worked right next to the stadium and often finished up work while waiting for others to get there in the stadium instead of our crapazz office.

I have a 21 game plan and I always get there early!  First of all, for promotion days and autograph days you have to, to get the item.  I like being able to visit the store, get my food, eat at a picnic table, before the game.  Then by the time the National Anthem is played, Im at my seat with scorecard at the ready for line-ups!

Yeah, I think that's it for me too. I used to get there super early but as I started to attend more games (abut 30 a year), I started to get more protective of my time. I now time it so I get to my seat just in time for the first pitch.

Obviously, this is all personal preference. And I also get there early if there are promotions that I care about....

That too, I forgot about always wanting to have time to get my scorecard ready and to go over the matchups.

Is this going to be a party bus ?

I certainly hope not.    They'll lose the family customer.

Do people really need to drink before attending the game in order to enjoy it?

I hope there's a happy medium. You know, no kegs and all you can drink but be allowed to bring a little cooler and crack open a couple...

Some might view it as a far more cost effective approach than paying $10 a beer inside the Park.

Yeah, I hear ya.   And I agree that venue food and beverage pricing is non sensical.

But, ya know.  For me, buying a hot dog and a beer at the ballpark is part of the game experience.  Especially on a hot summer day.

I'm not doing it to get plastered.

Drinking on a "party bus" on the way to a game smacks to me like all the bad and violent vibe I hear about attending FedEx games.  (And probably many other NFL stadia.)

I hear you, brother. As I get older, I am getting more sensitive to people who over imbibe and frankly act like total imbeciles and take away from other people's enjoyment of the game.
