We needed this game tonight and Detwiler gave it to us.   Super credit goes to Harper with that play at the plate!!!!

I don't see any Filly HBP, and Hamels batted twice. Couldn't Detwiler at least hit him in the ankle with a fastball?

Had the game on at work tonight as usual! Shutting out the Phillies is awesome. We have to take 3 of 4 this weekend. Have to.

Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their 62nd win, each season:

2012 - 2nd August (104th match of season)
2005 - 14th August (117th match)
2011 - 22nd August (126th match)
2007 - 4th September (139th match)
2006 - 11th September (144th match)
2010 - 15th September (146th match)
---
2008 - finished 59-102
2009 - finished 59-103

---

THIS DAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: Tuesday 2nd August 2005...another day, another one-run loss, this time to the Dodgers in the series opener at RFK, 5-4...Nats have now lost 11 consecutive one-run results...record now 56-50...http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250802120

---

Announced attendance was only 28,825 - looked fuller than that; drops our season average to 30,044 (still about a thousand ahead of the 2008 record of 29,005).

---

A welcome addition to the 300's...an in-stands vendor selling Amstel Light, Heineken and Stella...he's been around every day since the start of the last homestand, usually hits the TBSITH neighbourhood round the bottom of the 1st and again about the 3rd.

If you told me before this series that we'd only win one game, I'd definitely want it to be the one against hummels
OMGz, it's Chief!!!!!
