Phew.  Garcia is a major leaguer for the rest of his career, I think.

May his elbow hold up, forever.  Found money, diamond in the rough, etc
I'm just hoping we can get some big innings out of him the next two months.

He's never been able to stay healthy long term.

Gonna have to watch highlights.

Also could Garcia replace H-Rod on the playoff roster since he went to the 60 day dl?

The playoff roster is 25, and Garcia is on the 40 man. They will have to leave another reliever off to add him, or he could take the 5th starters spot.

Was Garcia activated before 9/1?  I think you have to be activated previous to that time in order to qualify for the playoff roster.  If he qualifies, he should pitch.

Oh I forgot about that - can they DL Strasburg with a strained eyelash or something?

And the fact that Kendrick hit him in the hand, you know, his right hand.

tomterp, at least save that crap for when the game is over.

Nats just squandered a huge opportunity to get more runs.

Wait, you're still here, but the game is over I thought.

A few of us are sticking around to just watch the last couple innings.

I love T-Mo and Lombo. The rookies have been fantastic for this team. Glad T-Mo got to prove himself again tonight. And they're roommates too :mg:

Watching Morse in left, I remember what a good old fashioned power-hitting OF looks like when he has to field.

Ramos, H-Rod and Strasburg open slots for guys not on the 25-man 8/31.  There's a Zuckerman post on the subject.

Crap.  He is an absolute beast and will definitely take over for someone like Gorzo next season.  Stammen has the mop up role down.

Yeah, I don't master the details but there was a lot of flexibility as I recall.  Garcia's got to be in.
