Why not just have him try to hit a fly ball?

Holy crap. Riggleman is clueless. No way in any scenario should he be the manager next year.

With the way Gonzales is hitting I'm all for a squeeze. Good lord he can't even get the bat on a stupid breaking ball?

Gonzo is not a fly ball hitter and on a safety squeeze willingham is still on third

and you don't know anything either. stfu

since when is this team capable of executing a suicide squeeze? Willingham is slow and Gonzalez has shown he can't handle the bat.

So dumb. Also thrilled that Belliard started at 3B and batted third today. brilliant decision by Rig

I can never remember a suicide squeeze by the Nats. why call for one now?

it would have been one thing if Morgan was up to bat and a semi-fast runner was on third base.

You clearly don't understand the concept of a suicide squeeze. It's supposed to be a surprise so what happened doesn't happen. If Gonzalez gets the ball in play, it's a run and you're cheering like it was the move of the year.

Reds trivia again(tough one here)

OK got a feeling a lot of you will be looking this one up.

This Reds player had his number retired and then reactivated 2 years later.  The number was then retired for another player later, who was this player and what number was it?
Will post answer after the 7th inning

what would ever lead Jim to believe that Gonzalez can get that ball in play? It was a terrible pitch to make contact with too. breaking ball way inside.

still, he should have fouled it off. but that doesn't mean it wasn't a terrible decision to call for the play in the first place.

You don't call a squeeze as the pitch is in the air! How in the world was Riggleman supposed to know the pitch would be awful? Not everyone has the ability of hindsight that you use to back up all of your arguments. Some people actually have to make decisions in real time.
