You don't call a squeeze as the pitch is in the air! How in the world was Riggleman supposed to know the pitch would be awful? Not everyone has the ability of hindsight that you use to back up all of your arguments. Some people actually have to make decisions in real time.
i should have rephrased that. what would lead Jim to believe that Gonzalez can get ANY ball in play there?

Nieves with 3 hits.

Him, Willingham, and Dunn did their job today. that's it.

Well, it's either 1, 5, 8, 10, 13, 18, 20 or 24.

I was thinking it could be Rose, but he wore 14.

NO. how about the game is freaking over and was over a long time ago.

Terrible pitching by Lannan. Horrible managing by Rig. Guzman and Morgan play like crap. RZ day off. All of that = Loss

Lannan was terribly bad in the 5th, but Alberto Gonzalez should retire.  The guy is an embarrassment.  What a total joke.  Can't believe he calls himself a ballplayer.

Still don't understand how Gonzalez is on a major league roster.  It was a great call, had the Reds in total shock.  He backed off a high 60s/low 70s breaking ball!  He's a joke.
