Did Bob mention anything about pitch count that half inning? I was on the phone, not sure if I need to take a drink(s) or not.

Stras looking real good early.  Wonder how long it will be until he "earns" those borderline calls.

That's just it, the curve wasn't borderline, but he's gotten plenty of other borderline calls in other games.  Just glad Lowrie bailed him out on the next pitch.

I was thinking more about the pitch underneath the hands.  And more specifically I'm comparing him to some other pitchers we have seen like Randy Johnson, or even Derek Lowe, who got some ridiculous calls and the explanation we heard was that they earned them by the way they pitched through the years.

It seems to me like he already gets far more calls than anyone else with his experience would get, so I think his name is definitely worth something.  Mindfact :P

the mid atlantic sports report is probably some of the worst sports programming out there. pretty embarassingly bad for a network as "big" as MASN.

Zim-with-1-N used to start slow in April-May. We need the 2009-11 Z-man.

Possibly, though it has seemed like the umps weren't giving him that type of leeway in Chicago or New York from my vantage point.  Of course that is just how I've seen it so far.

Lombo singled to left-center.  Nothing much else happening.  SS with two Ks.

Zimm with a .212 BABIP so far, the hits will start falling eventually... right?

Darn, I kind of expected a no-hitter.

shouldn't it be metssuck'd or jca'd or linty'd or pc'd?  How did my most innocuous comment of the entire thread become the lightning rod? :?
