do i have the flu or strep throat? or neither?

I am not sure whether i have strep throat or the flu.

My symptoms are that since yesterday morning i have had:

Sore, scratchy, painful throat
Runny nose
Terrible headache, the kind where your entire head hurts including your face and neck
Slight dizziness
extreme sleepiness, i literally slept for almost 24 hours straight and i am still exhausted
Weakness and body soreness, as in it is a real chore just to move around.
Bad cough, just started this morning.

To my knowledge i do NOT have a fever.

The above things, i have had before, but never all at once.

I forced myself to work today on sheer willpower, green lantern style. I called out yesterday, and i didnt want to miss two days in,a row.

I am considering just leaving and going to the hospital.

If you gotta work, take some Ibuprofen (Advil, etc.) or some Tylenol if you haven't already. The problem with working sick is that you're gonna get other people sick, but there's not a whole lot you can do about that if you must work on sick days. And I know a lot of people do.

Id see a doctor.  To determine strep you need a throaat culture done.  Headache sounds like a deep sinus infection possibly but I don't recall having one that went down my neck before.

Could be Mono... Sinus infection is possible too. Best to see a doctor.

i decided to leave work and go to the doctor.

strep throat and mono tests were both negative.

i got two shots in the ass, some antibiotics and instructions to not leave the house until tuesday.

and to gargle a whole glass of salt water 4 times a day.

I get a shot in the ass every two weeks The butt cheek, but nevertheless... I get a testosterone shot every two weeks due to low testosterone. Makes me feel like a 14 year old most of the time. A gust of wind and boing!! The wife is fine with that fwiw
