That doesn't include Zimmermann or Strasburg, either.

Very true.

If only Rizzo was just our head of scouting. I think the team would better off. His style of take it or leave it negotiating contracts only seems to work well with amateurs... not pro's that have other options.

The Royals will still suck when all their prospects reach the majors, if that ever even happens.  If they get one star player and 4 other average major leaguer starters (like top 15 or so for position players), they'll have done well with their 10 prospects.  That's still only 5 players.  Where are the rest going to come from?  We've seen with the Nats how hard it is to get quality free agents to come here.

Yes and it is why free agency and trades are just as important as drafting. All aspects of acquiring players have to be done well in order to have a winning team.

They'll be playing for the Red Sox/Yankees/Phillies in the next three years anyway.  :?

i think cole was the most important signing of last year's class (obviously aside from harper).  i'll remember where i was (the beach), what i stopped what i was doing at the time (drinking) and see cole pop up on the screen ... then i drank again.

i think this kid is going to be special.

Saw Cole pitching this morning over at the minor league camp. He was working on some mechanics adjustment, but overall looked really good. Nice to see the future up close.

So BPro and anything stat-geeky is garbage, unless they praise the Nats, in which case we should applaud the finding? :?

I never called it "garbage" (and if I did it was in an effort to piss tomterp off), I've always maintained in serious discussions that "stat-geeky" material needs to be mixed with a dose of non-quantifyable scouting material in order to paint the full picture.  Topics often get divided proving a player either "rules" or "sucks" by people cherry-picking their favorite numbers to prove their arguments.

But whatever.  Yes.  You nailed it Inspector.  You got me.

And I would've gotten away with it if it weren't for you meddling kids.
