It's the second inning and we already have our prerequisite error.

Hey Chief, I just set up a new topic (as GAMEDAY THREAD), thinking no mods around.  If you can delete that now that you're here, thanks.  I knew I couldn't make it a Sticky, but didn't think we were getting a mod.

O'Connor strikes out 3 in a row to get out of a no-outs two-on jam!

It's as if a popup bunt SHOULD be an out, so we get a double play because he got on.

Wow that might be a webgem play by Zimmerman and Johnson.

I saw our friend with the Caps avatar (Nats19?) browsing along with someone else no longer listed now, but they might have left before you got the Game Day thread going.  I never noticed the list of people browsing before, when I was trying to figure out how to set one up. O'Connor's at 46 pitches in 3 innings.  The Orioles fielders have butter fingers tonight.

For anyone who reads this thread later, Mark Lerner is in the booth.  He said he hopes the Nats sweep the Orioles.  Reading between the lines, I'm guessing the Lerners were forced to swallow the TV deal that Angelos got, and now wants to stick it to him!

Good evening everybody!  Getting ready for a weekend of military duty, so I'm here with you guys and not at the ball park.  Let's go Nats!

I like the way O'Conner is getting ahead of hitters.

O'CONNOR GETS OUT OF IT!

Gibbons named at least three relatives who went to GWU, including himself and his dad.  That, and good pitching, may help O'Connor become entrenched in Washington, as a GWU guy himself.  Lerner said they're determined to get ALL the games on TV.  2 on and no out...but O'C worked his way out - he's got poise...and 5 K's!

O'Connor rocks. He may not have the best stuff but he never gives up. And the first time it was first and second with no outs I dont really think it was his fault. Zimm errored, then he threw Conine 4 strikes in that at bat.

he's quickly becoming my favorite pitcher, besides J-Patt.

Yeah, it's a damn shame they'll probably just send him back down once Patterson comes off the DL :(

Add "bunting" to the fundamental the next manager needs to work on, in addition to base running, fielding by pitchers, etc, etc, etc
