His release is so deceptive that it makes his stuff really tough to hit. How has this guy slipped through the cracks until the age of 30?

Schroder is having a great season but Manny definitely needs to start using him in closer games to see if he is indeed for real.  Chris' ERA is down to 1.30 for the season.

He's only 28 and he turns 29 in a week or so.

That's outstanding. Do you have his WHIP numbers? OK that sounded gay  :?

That hurt PC.

Well, he sat them down 1-2-3 and then we went to Saul...and that was it.

Saul's been very reliable all year - what happened to him the other night was really very unusual ...

That's why reminding me of it hurt so much. Winnable game.

Has he hit 4 batters or something because the WHIP should be under 1 according to those numbers.

Belliard is beyond ice cold.. He has been awful for a few weeks ago now.  Why we continue to strike out looking on fastballs is beyond me.

Not sure what the whip is, but he's only given up 4 runs in 19 appearances - and no more than 1 at any one time ...

But Schroeder was already proven dominate and Don, just now as I was typing this, said "You don't know what you're going to get from a guy coming fresh into a ball game."  He was talking about Webb hitting with the bases loaded but it applied to that first game with Schroeder too.  If you have a reliever who normally pitches multiple innings and he had a dominant one inning, why would you take him out and hope that your next reliever is "on" that day.

Well, as I said a couple of times in other threads - I think it's just unfortunte that his spot was up third the next inning in a tie game - if that wasn't the situation, I have no doubt he would have come back out again ...

btw, According to Nationals.com, Matt Chico will stay in the rotation.  It did not say who would be replaced by Hill.

We have to plate at the minimum 2 but preferably we should take advantage of the opportunity that has presented itself and SCORE!

I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

I'm not so sure about that... I can see JB sending Lannan/Hanrahan down because they "have options"
