Tim Hudson (4-1, 1.83 ERA) will look to help the Braves bounce back after allowing two runs and nine hits in six innings of Thursday's 5-3 win over San Diego. Hudson, who has not given up more than three runs in any of his eight starts, failed to go seven innings for the first time this season but won for the first time since April 20.

The right-hander did not walk a batter and has allowed just one base on balls in 30 innings over his last four outings.

The Nationals will activate Jerome Williams  (0-4, 6.11) from the disabled list to try for his first win of the season. Williams held the New York Mets hitless through 5 1-3 innings in his last start on April 28, and ended up allowing just one hit in six scoreless innings before spraining his left ankle in the Mets' 12-inning, 6-2 win.

Williams, who made a rehab start at Triple-A Columbus on Thursday, is 1-2 with a 4.15 ERA in five career starts against the Braves.

Another lopsided matchup in the Braves' favor but that doesn't mean much of anything with this team.  They have beaten Peavy, Hamels, Smoltz (2X), etc. Hopefully we don't get shutout like we did last time against Hudson though.

Jerome Williams is utterly f*cking pathetic... 1-2 and he gives him that hanging slider..  Ridiculous.  Throw the ball in the damn dirt you moron!

Terrible pitch, especially to Renteria.  He's like Francouer.  You don't have to throw him strikes.

what a damn idiot... He's getting behind every hitter.  I'd rather have Hanrahan or Fruto than this chump.

Who will we bring up, after the game tonight, when Williams gets sent down?

Maybe Hanrahan? Or if you want a reliever you can call up Schroder (0.00 ERA in 18 IP).  Damn, Speigner is pitching tomorrow.  ughhh.  Looks like we'll have to win the day game on Thursday to gain a split.

No, Bob.  Jerome Williams should be sent down immediately after this game and a reliever should be called up from Columbus.  That way the bullpen is full for tomorrow.

Yep, this game's over.  Just by the performance of the first three batters.

That was the worst inning this team has had in a while.

Yep, this game may get ugly.  Jerome might have to take one for the team because we are going to need the pen tomorrow with Speigner pitching.

Have you seen the Nats play the last few games. They have a winning streak. There a thing called momentum that does wonder for your team and team morale. They'll come back. Mark my words.

Hanrahan is out with a groin injury.  That is the only reason he isn't here already.  But I wouldn't look to him to be any sort of relief for this rotation.

The coaches should be talking in the dugout, right now.  From this point on, the objective of this game should be to go deep into counts.

If you keep the bat on your shoulders, he has to throw at least THREE pitches!
