Nats win 5-3.  Lannan goes 6, gives up 1 run.  Gaudin, Coffey, and Storen perform well enough to get the win.

Nats force Halladay out relatively early due to high pitch count, get 4 runs off of Philly relievers in the 7th.

-Lannan 0-8 with a 6.09 ERA vs Phils lifetime
-Halladay 8-1 with a 1.96 ERA vs Nats lifetime

gulp. Cora/Hairston combined 5/47 (.106) lifetime vs Halladay.

Show me someone with a decent sample size who owns Halladay (not saying it doesn't exist, I just kinda doubt it).

They should bunt on his ass, make him work off the mound a bit.

Ibanez completely owns Lannan. 10/15. Thank god Utley isn't playing because he owns John too

For those going tonight:

Yahoo! Weather's forecast for tonight is 'A few showers early with clear skies overnight. Low 46F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30%'

Capital Weather Gang's NatCast: 'Showers and/or drizzle from earlier in the day are most likely gone by game time. Midday breeziness should be diminishing as well, but even a light breeze will be a raw one - from the northwest - only serving to chill the air even more.' They expect temperature at first pitch to be low-to-mid 50's, near 50 in ninth inning, mostly cloudy with 15% chance of rain.

---

On the radio front: This match won't be on FM-106.7 (it will be on AM-1500 though) due to the Wizards' season finale at Cleveland - the final Wizards pre-emption of the year.

The old guys Pudge and Ibanez have their chances tonight to relive their youths a little.  Maybe we should rest LaRoche one more night, too, and have Matt 'Walk Machine with a Golden Glove' Stairs play there again.

This game seems as close to the Speigner/Santana matchup as I can remember. Let's hope for a similar shocking outcome. (But I wouldn't bet on it. :) )

Damn, we are 5-5. Why so down on the team, SFSB?

All I got from that is that in 35 PA Pudge is .400 against Halladay and has NEVER walked.  WOW!!!

Ibanez completely owns Lannan. 10/15. Thank god Utley isn't playing because he owns John too
Stairs and Pudge own Halladay.  Hope they get to play tonight.  They clearly give us our best opportunity to win this game.

Is the game on MASN in addition to ESPN?

Ah, I have a preset format that I always copy and forget to change that stuff.

Question: Even though its on ESPN, would that blackout and direct us to MASN still?

Yes, blacked out on ESPN locally. We will get local broadcast on MASN.

Good. I don't want to hear ESPN slobber all over the Phillies.

Conjures up audio images of Greaseman's 6-minute workout.

Amen... Still, can anyone give me a definite answer on whether I can see the game on mlb.tv and maybe throw in instructions for making FP go away so I can listen to Charlie and Dave?

In all seriousness, we seem to get one or two opportunities vs. guys like Doc.  It's just a matter of whether or not we can cash it in.  If we can, we'll have an opportunity to win.  If not, it could be a long night for the Nats.
