Pitching at Harrisburg.  A mix of multi-inning relief and starting. Rough outing today, but since June, in 41 IP and he's had 13 appearance, 2.85 ERA, 38 Ks, 16 BB, 1.22 WHIP. As a releiver, he's had a strong groundball tendency, but as a starter, it looks like he's a lot closer to even on GO/AO, per his MiLB page.

A very positive piece written about 10 days ago, about his good record as a long reliever.

The 27-year-old Indiana native struggled through his first six appearances of the 2012 season, posting a 9.00 ERA with 10 walks through his first 12 innings.
. . .

After firing 5.1 innings of hugely important long relief in Thursday night's 12-3 loss to Richmond – Tatusko yielded just one run while striking out six – those earlier numbers are looking much better. And that big picture is becoming clearer.

“Solid, solid effort out of him,” manager Matthew LeCroy said of an outing that saves his bullpen leading into Friday night's doubleheader. “He's commanding, and his pitch has late life when it's down. Earlier this season he was up [in the zone], and there were a lot of walks. But he's got the stuff to be a big league pitcher. It's just about executing and repeating the delivery, and he's doing that lately.”

Over his last five outings, including one of his four spot starts this season, Tatusko boasts a 2.08 ERA with six walks and 19 strikeouts over 17.1 innings.

Tatusko pitched 6 shutout innings in relief (!) of a disastrous Trevor Holder tonight. 3 hits, a walk, 6 strikeouts. It was the first walk he'd given up in the month of August.

Old for AA?  Yes, at 27.  But starter/ reliever conversions sometimes happen late only after the team realizes that the guy isn't fit to start for them.  Mindfact, and others chime in, but there are probably others kicking around with a similar profile.

Ryan fits the Dirk Hayhurst profile: becomes a mop-up innings sponge guy in his mid-20s at AA ball.

Apparently Ryan Tatusko was just on the college campus where I work talking to ballplayers, but I only found out afterwards. Rats!

Tatusko is putting up very nice numbers this season, ERA down to 2.22 in 10 starts after tossing 6 and allowing a run on 8 hits with a walk and three Ks

Confirmation on Tatusko's Twitter account, now officially moving to Korea to become a starter for the Hanwha Eagles. Right now they're in last place (21-38 with 1 draw), 20 games behind the Samsung Lions. Their center fielder is Felix Pie.
