Thats a cool image thing there with the lineups.....start every thread for all I care.

The lineup is exactly as I predicted, with the exception of Kearns/Johnson being switched.

This begins a new era of Nats baseball.

You know what would be sweet? If kearns hits a walk-off HR and Lopez scores one of the runs.

We're saving that ...for when we play the Reds!

If we're saving it for the Reds, I hope that Kearns hits a walk-off, Lopez scores one of the runs, Clayton gets the error that puts Lopez on, and Majewski gets the loss.

VIDRO lunges at the 1st pitch and hits a comebacker.  WTF was the rush????  Why swing at thap pitch in an rbi situation (or any situation)???  He is not a run producer.  We need to drop him down in the order.  That was bad.

A Nats pitcher having difficulty getting the third out.  Who would have guessed?

Maybe Guillen can do something here and increase his trade value.

How in the world did he manage to single on a grounder to the pitcher? :|

I think you've got to tell Ortiz to just stand there and take 3 in this case...  give Soriano a guaranteed chance to do some damage with two men on.

That would have made too much sense.  :x

Nick-at-Night doubles.  Zim moves him to 3rd base.  Jose Gimme-Some-o-Dat drives in Nick with an infield hit
Nationals 1
Pirates 2

The fact that Soriano already has a double should make you think that's it would be a good idea if there were runners on base the next time he came to bat.

...but, no such luck.

Well, Lopez gets his first error out of the way.

FYI, for those who didn't just hear, Marlon Byrd cleared waivers and is back in New Orleans.

Good to see Lopez embracing the Nationals way so quickly with his first error.  Ortiz having a pretty crappy outing tonight, we better start scoring runs by the bucket-load if we expect to win this one.

Which makes the fact that we've left runs on the field all the worse.

Ortiz is now described as our ace.  Livan told him he was expected to give up 4 runs in the first 2 innings.  He tried.
VIDRO HOME RUN!!!
Nationals 2
Pirates 3
