I still don't understand why Manny had Nieves pinch run for Bard.

Have you seen how slow Bard is?

He's the backup catcher now that Nieves has been used.

so? he can still come off the bench...

Is he that much slower than Nieves? It just seemed like an unnecessary move.

I agree.  I think Manny overmanaged tonight.  At the very least, over substituted.

yes, Bard is quite slow.  Nieves actually has surprising speed for a catcher.

Bard is so slow he couldn't beat Dmitry Young to the buffet.

Nice hit Guzzie.

Nieves runs well for a catcher. Bard is very slow. Didn't he get thrown out at the plate not long ago?

This inning is a nightmare for eagleskins. Nieves pinch runs and scores a run, Hernandez singles, Gonzalez singles, Guzman singles.

YES.  That's the memory that's fresh in my mind.  Dude is HORRIBLE slow.  That video might still be on Nationals.com, Ronny.

I was in need of a new one any ways since Acta is not going anywhere.

don't jinx it though. Mr. Hanrahan still has to get 3 more outs.

I think Manny put Nieves in there to run because he wanted him in there defensively anyways. He was avoiding one of these moments:
