Yeah but you *can* rip a DVD (or bluray, with a bit more effort), that's the point. I know they don't want you to, there are technically laws that forbid it in a roundabout way, etc. etc. but it's still better than any form of online streaming or stores with proprietary company-specific DRM like iTunes. No chance there's ever a widely circulated and easy method for de-DRMing/backing up stuff like that
