With slot issues, Goodwin also probably goes to South Carolina. We wouldn't have been able to pay him and draft other talent. He had leverage.
It's hard to compare previous years to new rules. If you're aggressive with one pick, you have to cut a couple others. So I can see the argument of nabbing an elite talent one year for 2 slot guys a year later. I don't think I personally would take that gamble. I just see the reasoning behind it.
