If they lock it up tomorrow or Monday, it's gonna be a great day at the ballpark Monday evening.

I'm guessing there won't be many PHillie fans heading down 95 for the games next week!,

Then send up Strassburg as a pinch-hitter at Nats Park. Let the crowd applaud.

When the Cardinals tied the game @ four apiece, I was really sweating it.  Suzuki is turning out to be an unsung hero for this team.  Rizzo sure picked a winner when he went out and got him and his big hit tonight couldn't have come at a better time!  What a great extra inning victory for the Nats!

Congrats to Bryce Harper for his phenomenal hitting.  Congrats to Desi and Espi for their timely DP's.  Congrats to Zimmermann for his terrific pitching.  And congrats to Michael Morse for the most amusing grand slam I've ever seen.

This 96th win pulls us even with the second pennant winner (featuring Walter Johnson's Last Stand):

99 - 1933 [pennant winner]
96 - 1925 [pennant winner], 2012
94 - 1930
93 - 1932
92 - 1924 [World Series winner], 1931
91 - 1912
90 - 1913
87 - 1945
86 - 1969

---

THIS DAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: Thursday 29th September 2005 was a travel day, heading home for their final homestand against the Phillies...record 81-78.

---

For some reason, that number 96 (as in 96th win) has brought back an old '60's song, now running inexorably through my head:

You're goona cry 96 tears
You're gonna cry 96 tears
You're gonna cry, cry cry cry now
You're gonna cry 96 tears...
