night and day how much better he is than flores.  flores is a backup.  not his fault ramos got hurt, but he hasn't done much to make me think he can handle the everyday job.  if we were some offensive juggernaut, we could get away with him being our 8 hitter and doing a good job with the staff (which he has done, but he can't throw anyone out) ... but we don't.

His offense doesn't bother me that much, but it is a significant drop-off from Wilson. He absolutely cannot throw anyone out though. Granted our pitchers don't do a great job of holding runners on either.

Wow, does anyone else see the sweat stains on Zambrano's hat? Or maybe that is the rosin.

I can't really remember a time when a stolen base decisively cost us the game.  Not that it's not a good thing to hold runners on, just that I don't think it matters nearly as much with pitchers who aren't primarily sinkerballers since they aren't as dependent on the double play.

Lannan, likely after getting wind that he was starting on Saturday, has given up 4 hits and 3 earned runs in the first inning tonight in his AAA start. :?

Unfortunately, I don't think it's related.

Maybe, he has struggled all season. This does not bode well for Saturday. The Braves will crush him.
